Dr Paul Harvey

From a childhood blessed with an abundance of outdoors, exploration, and a strong desire established to do more than ‘just sit in a classroom’ Dr Paul Harvey found himself diving into the study of Environmental Science.

He was then propelled further forward along that path by the diagnosis of a close family member of a rare form of cancer that is environmentally stimulated. The decision to undertake a PhD was the next step, and so the stage was set for a lifetime of wanting to make a difference.

However, picking up plastic waste on a beach in Wales with his partner was where the inspiration came from to write The Plasticology Project.  Now the burning desire to clean up the planet and make it ‘sexy’ to want to eliminate the use of so much plastic in our everyday lives is what drives this young environmental warrior.

As Paul says, if we don’t inspire each other to ditch the unnecessary packaging and pick up after ourselves, then what will our grandchildren be swimming in?
